How to Start a Blog - Easy Steps

How to start a blog begins with what one is. A blog is a really simple web log of almost anything. It can be personal with just updates for the family to keep up with. It can be for business and be really complicated or simple and contain up to the minute information that the employees need to know. It can be about stunt kites or classic cars or anything you have a passion for. The next question to answer is what is a blogger? A blogger can be many things! Or a blogger can be a cross between many things that requires different hats. So a blogger is a news caster, a celebrity gossip writer, an educator, a teacher or some kind of an orator. But there is one common thread between all bloggers and that each one is in search of a reader or an audience. So now that you know what a blog and a blogger is did you see yourself in some area of the last paragraph? If you did pack your bags because you are now ready to begin your new journey to successful blogging with your new blog. You first step is to find your focus what are you interested in? Cooking, cleaning, fishing, flying, fighting, motorcycles, classic cars, racing cars, marriage, divorce, dating or breading animals it does not matter. If you cannot think of anything then just pick something and go learn about it everything you can and when you get a little understanding about your chosen subject start your blog. The next thing is you need a home for your blog and a domain name. The domain name should be a keyword the people search for. What would someone type into a search bar to find your blog? Like Fishingforbass(.com, .net, .org) or one of the many other extensions available. Find a good keyword for a domain name and its not available try adding some dashes between the words or maybe an extra word like Bestfishingforbass or my Bestfishingforbass. You want the domain name to be something people can remember without having to write down and short so it is not a lot to remember. More on the home for your blog which can be one of the free blogger resources of which there are many. To list a few Blogger, Hub, Wordpress, Squidoo and Weebly are some of the best and easiest to use. Being free you add in your domain to theirs as an example (stunt-kites.blogspot.com) or (hubpages.com/hub/planning-a-vegetable-garden). To get your own domain name exclusively some of these services will let you buy one that you redirect to theirs. The next way is the hosted domain service where you use a tool like wordpress or one of the many others and build your blog without the help of a free service. Both ways are good for making money but the hosted way you have more control over. What would be of help would be to use three or four of the free blogging sites and build a similar blog on each one pick the one you like best to start out with. You blog will need a theme and a theme is what sets a tone for the posts you add. You would not have a tropical them for a political blog or a cooking theme for a health care blog. If you are going for personal blog the theme can be almost anything. On the free blogging sites they mostly have a few selections to choose from. But once you move up to a paid hosted service there are too many choices. Now you are on your way to begin blogging. Once the blog has a home and a theme you are ready to start blogging. Blogging posts should be from about 225 to 500 words no more and no less. But regular updates depending on your niche. Personal it is have ever you want to update it. For a public blog with readers from a few as three days a week to every day to three or four times a day. The name of the game is fresh content to keep readers coming back for more. It is not a bad idea to learn what blogging etiquette is it is nothing more than common sense but it is important to being aware of.
